All I could find was an updated Xserve. Similar treatment to what the Mac Pro got, new processors.
Never anything fun.

Apple store down. Just because it's a Tuesday.
No word on what will show up in the store. My guess is a 2TB Time Capsule. My wish is a Mac Netbook.

iPhones rumors. The probable ones.
Above is a good suggestion for what is not going to happen. This summer, and we're all sure of this, the iPhone will get an update, and likely is the iPod Touch at the same time. The new 3.0 software will be available to the public this summer. There is speculation of upgraded wifi and personally I'm dead sure on what chip will be used. Likely is a new camera sensor.
Reportedly, Apple also seem to have been buying up large amounts (about 40%) of Samsung's flash supplies until this summer, so upgraded memory in the next iPhone is no surprise; 32gb iPhone and 64gb iPod Touches coming up.
At least this is what I'm sure of. But then again, that's just me.
Intel thinks netbooks suck. Intel sucks.
It seems like Intel is telling us what netbooks can't do.
Wow.
I can see why they'd prefer to sell more expensive processors and chips, because they'd be getting a bigger margin. And thus earn more money. But one thing that all these major companies don't seem to get is that with the current world economy, if the netbook segment wouldn't have existed, they'd probably have no profit, instead of the small profit they earn from netbooks now.
Oh yeah, and this quote is nice for sure.
- Can I replace my aging laptop with a netbook?
- No. A netbook doesn't have the processing power and functionality you'd need to run many of the applications your current laptop supports, even if it's a few years old. The good news is that today's laptops offer more bang for the buck than ever before. You'll immediately reap the rewards of greater performance, quality and reliability by upgrading your system.
My U820 is right now running Vista, Firefox with six tabs open, MSN with 3 chats and cam on, iTunesplaying music and syncing to my iPod, running an open Word file, having a Diablo II window open in the background and mobility center on it's in internal screen. And while the U820 might be a UMPC, it "suffers from netbook symptoms". It runs on an Intel Atom processor and the crippled GMA 500 (needs new drivers). Only 1gb ram. Previously it had a 60gb 4200rpm hdd, and now wth an SSD, it is noticably faster when it comes to loading, but it was fully usable! Intel is full of crap, have they tested their own chips?
Best of all they say they can't run heavy apps and games.
Games, sure. Some apps yes. But I've had no problem with Photoshop CS 4 really. And What office software is harder on the system than Office 2007?
A netbook usually is better than or at the very least equal to a 3 year old ultraportable (think 2000 USD), and yet offers way better battery life, connectivity and features. The old Flybook, which also serves double as a cell phone, something netbooks don't do (yet!) had a 1GHz Transmeta Crusoe processor, and in later revisions an Intel Pentium processor, and in the latest revisions (if I'm not mistaken) a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 8.9" screen, convertible, 1024x600 resolution, 512-2048mb ram, 40/80/100gb hdd (and some SSD options) and a weight of 1.2kg or so. Sounds familiar? Well yeah, in a sense a netbook, but not quite. Pricing was up to 3k usd for some models (this example was released summer 2008).
How do you really justify such a price tag when there are devices that do really the thing for about a 6th of the price nowadays? The newer devices are not only cheaper, but better when it comes to most things.
As much as I know I want a new shiny MacBook, I know Idon't need it, to be honest, I only want the operating system, and the design (give my my Mac Netbook already please).
And I'd like a Vaio P because that's the smallest device you can get with a touch typing keyboard.
And I'd like the ultraportable Sony Vaio TT with 1.4 GHz C2D and RAIDed 2x128GB SSDs and Gobi 3G chip. But I don't need it.
I found myself a sweet spot, the U820. It has its' drawbacks, and the 1k price tag IS actually not too bad. I don't get lots of computing power, but I get all features I need. And I didn't pay 1.1k extra for an SSD from Fujitsu themselves directly, but rather bought one on eBay for 200 bucks. The Mtron SSDs are well known for going into high end ultraportables and UMPCs. As far as I know, the Mtron SSD I use is on par or better than the Samsung drive that you can get from Fujitsu, and I wouldn't really notice an increase in usuability if I had it. Worth noting however, is that the Samsung has got 64gb while the Mtron has 32gb, which is enough for me anyhow, and following a simple rule of thumb when it comes to flash based hard drives, a 64gb Mtron would cost only 400 USD. Please tell me, what justifies the extra 700 USD in such a case? Brand?

Okay, my bad. Again.

IB showed what a bitch it could be, and I had a lot of stuff to do in school. So to summarize what I'll do;
Write like 8 articles for starters.
And a benchmark of my new SSD for the U820 - an Mtron Mobi 3000 zif2/pata 32gb (hint: it's awesome)!
